On Dec 23, 2022 we’ll have the New Moon in Capricorn. I love that the new moon is right before Christmas giving us waxing moon energy to be able to have more energy.
I don’t know about you but these last few weeks have run me over. I have totally been in survival mode. I haven’t done much of my sun salutations in the morning that help me get ready for my day and I can’t remember when I last mediated. Or even worked out. Okay last time was Monday Dec 12, 2022 and I know that because I wrote it down.
There’s a few energetic reasons causing this… it’s the waning moon energy, meaning lower energies in general. It’s freaking cold outside making our bodies not want to move and conserve energy and finally Mars in retrograde. I’m blaming everything on mars lol.
But seriously, lots of energetic bodies are at rest right now, so it makes sense that we don’t want to move either. But life doesn’t stop so we push ourselves. What can help us during these times of low vibe energy in the cosmos is our daily routines. Such as daily sun salutations, other yoga practices, meditation, journaling, and really anything else to help ground you and centered for the day.
Now back to the New Moon in Capricorn.
During this New Moon in Capricorn it is a great time to start planning 2023. Take this time to plan out your year and Capricorn reminds us that slow and steady wins the race.
It’s a great time to be ambitious with your new moon wishes and intentions. Use the Capricorn energy to dream big. On the same side of the coin ask yourself if you’ve been too hard on yourself. Are you making time for plan?
Show kindness to those you love and show them what they mean to you. This is great energy for Christmas. Capricorns love traditions, so this is also a great time to establish your own traditions or even explore re-establishing old ones.

For example, mine is in my 11th house. The 11th house rules friends, networks, social circles, the internet, and our hope and wishes
New Moon Ritual
Here’s a new moon ritual you can do this new moon and every new moon. Grab your journal and find a place where you feel comfortable. As you begin, close your eyes and take three cleansing breaths. During this new moon, think about the Capricorn energy and how you’d like to utilize it this lunation.
Take a moment to write a gratitude list for 2022, then after that write down 2-4 goals you want to work on for 2023.
After you write them down, take a few cleanse breaths and breath life into your desires. Close your eyes and visualize them happening. How does it feel? how do you feel? Who is there with you? Let the visualization settle in.
Take three more cleansing breaths, connecting you with the energy of the Universe. Remember that we are all one and her to live our life purpose. Thank the Universe and close with this or something better.
