Feeling lost or unmotivated in your career?

Are you feeling little to no motivation towards your career goals? Or just not sure if your career goal is even possible?

First let me say,  it’s completely normal to feel low motivation towards career goals sometimes. There are many reasons why this might happen.

For example you might be feeling overwhelmed or stressed. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, it can be difficult to focus on anything, let alone your career goals.

Another reason might be that your goals are unrealistic or unattainable. If your goals are too difficult or unrealistic, it’s no wonder you’re feeling unmotivated.

Also if you’re not making progress towards your goals, it can be easy to lose motivation.

When feeling low, or little motivation, here’s what you can do so you can get back on track and start working towards your kick-ass career goals.

Take a break. Sometimes, all you need is a little break to clear your head and come back to your career goals with fresh eyes. Rest is so key in making sure that you fill your cup before giving to others.

Reevaluate your goals. Make sure your goals are realistic and attainable. If they’re not, adjust them as needed. Maybe you’re just not passionate about moving up the career ladder and now you want to pivot into a new field that’s okay!

Break your career goals down into smaller steps. This will make them seem less daunting and more achievable. Ask yourself what’s the next best step or move I can make right now? What feels right?

Find a support system or community. Having people to support you and cheer you on can make a big difference.

Reward yourself for your progress. Yes, despite feeling like you haven’t achieved your goal you have made progress! Celebrate yourself for any small step you take, this will help you keep going towards your career goals.

Please note, that if you’ve been struggling with low motivation for longer than 6 months, it might be helpful to talk to a therapist or counselor. They can help you identify the root of the problem and develop strategies to overcome it.

Remember, motivation is not a constant. It ebbs and flows. There will be times when you feel motivated and times when you don’t. The important thing is to not give up on career your goals, even when you’re feeling unmotivated. Just keep taking steps towards your career goals, and eventually you will achieve them.

Everything in divine timing. You got this!

Here are some additional tips for boosting your motivation:

Set clear and specific goals. The more specific your goals are, the easier it will be to stay motivated.

Break your goals down into smaller steps. This will make them seem less daunting and more achievable.

Visualize yourself achieving your goals. This will help you stay focused and motivated.

Find a mentor or role model. Having someone to look up to can help you stay motivated and inspired.

Celebrate your successes. This will help you stay positive and motivated.
